TOYOPEARL SP-550C media is a strong cation exchanger for biomolecule purification. The resin is composed of a base material of hydroxylated methacrylic polymer beads that have been functionalized with sulfopropyl (S) strong cation exchange groups. TOYOPEARL SP-550C resins have high chemical and mechanical stability, allowing cleaning-in-place (CIP) and very high flow rates.
TOYOPEARL SP-550C is currently available in only one particle size, 100 µm, and corresponds to the C -grade assigned to resins with this particle size. TOYOPEARL SP-550C is designed to be used for the high throughput capture of product from biological feedstock.
TOYOPEARL SP-550C exhibits typical dynamic binding capacities for lysozyme of 100 g/L. TOYOPEARL SP-550C maintains capacity at increased linear velocities, has good pressure-flow characteristics, and will withstand back pressures up to 0.3 MPa.
