Our process chromatography workshops provide a hands-on introduction to biomolecule purification using chromatography and continuous chromatography. Participants gain practical expertise through dynamic binding capacity tests, resin and method evaluation, and column packing at both laboratory and pilot/process scale.
Who should attend?
This workshop is designed for downstream processing scientists and leaders with little or no prior experience process chromatography and its application to biomolecule purification.
What will it be about?
This workshop provides a practical introduction to downstream processing chromatography, covering the fundamental principles and real-world application of chromatographic purification technologies. Participants will gain hands-on experience in key process development and scale-up activities, including column packing, resin evaluation, dynamic binding capacity determination, chromatographic method development, and process troubleshooting.
Through a combination of expert-led presentations, live demonstrations, and laboratory training in rotating groups, attendees will pack and qualify chromatography columns at laboratory and process scale, evaluate resin performance, and learn strategies for developing robust purification processes. The workshop also includes an introduction to continuous chromatography and process intensification concepts, providing insight into modern manufacturing approaches used in biopharmaceutical purification.
By the end of the course, participants will better understand how to select and optimize chromatography solutions, avoid common operational challenges, and scale processes from development to manufacturing with confidence.

The workshop impressed me with its excellent structure. It starts with the fundamentals and systematically progresses to more advanced details, ensuring that every participant is engaged, regardless of their prior knowledge. I particularly valued the hands-on sessions, which serve not only as a practical reinforcement of the material but also provide an excellent platform for exchanging different techniques and approaches.
What truly sets this workshop apart, however, is the Tosoh team itself: genuine chromatography experts who can dive as deeply into the subject matter as needed. The discussions that emerge from these interactions are often outstanding and provide significant professional value. The combination of technical expertise, exceptional teaching, and the warm hospitality of the team make this workshop an easy recommendation, which is why I have already recommended it to several colleagues.
